Is Conestogo Lake Open for Fishing?

Conestogo Lake, located in the heart of Waterloo Region is a popular destination for fishing, picnicking, and boating. The lake is stocked regularly with a variety of fish species such as walleye, bass, and muskellunge.

It also has an accessible boat launch and docks for boats. The lake is also surrounded by extensive trails that can be used for biking and walking.

The official regulations from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry state that Conestogo Lake is open to fishing year-round; however, there are certain restrictions in place to ensure the health of the lake and its ecosystem. Fishing from the shoreline or from boats must be done using artificial lures only.
